I know this is challenging.... but please help me.... helping is caring...PS3 network settings.... please read further..?
The wireless router that is connected to your broadband modem (DSL or cable) will not let a wireless device connect to it unless that device transmits the correct password, or key. The key is used to prevent unauthorized people that are within range of your network from trying to connect to it.
You need to open the router's configuration page from a connected computer to not only find out what the key is, but also to see what type of encryption the router is using. It could be using WEP, WPA-PSK, etc.
When you find out the encryption type, you specify that in the PS3 settings and then supply the key that was also listed in the router configuration page. Don't confuse the ';passphrase'; with the ';key';, the key is what the PS3 needs.PS3 network settings.... please read further..?
I have two suggestions for you.
1. Add an XXX's or Zeros to the password to make it 10 digits. I read this elsewhere and maybe it will work for you.
2. Change the password on the wireless router to be 10 digits long.
