Need to change my key for the network. I don't have the old one.?

My roomate set our internet up and now he is gone. We need too add more computers to the network but I don't have the key. How do I change it?Need to change my key for the network. I don't have the old one.?
Most routers have a ';Reset'; button, usually on the back. Holding this in for a specified period of time or until a particular light flashes will set the router back to the original factory specs.

The details will be in the router's manual. If you don't have the router's manual, go to the manufacturers web site and input the model number (it's usually on the back or bottom of the router) and you should be able to download the manual which will walk you through the correct steps.

Hope that helps; email me directly if it doesn't

You have to reset your router. You can reset it on the back of the router. There should be a little hole you can stick a needle in there and press it until your router restarts. You cant do this wireless you have to connect to your router with a cat 5 cable then you go open the Internet tab and type in the default IPA address of your router it should take you to the log in page you should know how to get into it its usually in your booklet instructions. you then can change your key and save it. it should have Internet access after you go into your wireless properties and type the key in and encryption type.
Try logging on to the router, you can download the manual for this from the manufacturer's site. Go to wireless scurity and it will show you the key. Do not reset the router until you have the manual, and then only as a last resort. Once reset you need to re-enter the isp information from scratch.
