I keep getting disconnected from my Verizon wifi for no apparent reason. It will say I'm connected to local and internet, but none of my programs that use the internet will work. I have to go to my network icon, disconnect, right click on the connection, click properties, and re-type in my WEP key to get it to work. And sometimes I have to do this process two or three times before it will finally work. And then a few hours later, or after I reboot I have to go in and re-type the WEP key again! Every few hours I have to reset the damn key! Verizon had me do everything in the book. I reset the router, I unplugged the power cord for a few seconds, I've unplugged the co-ax on both ends and plugged them back in. Verizon reset the whole fios connection from their end, they don't know what to do they tell me it must be something on my computer that's changing my WEP key. What could be changing my WEP key? That makes sense though, because my friends laptop could connect and stay connected fine. My desktop computer works fine through the Ethernet cable so I know it's not the router. What can I do to figure out what's resetting my WEP key, and what can I do to fix it? I have really good virus protection, and I don't download things from sites I don't trust so I don't see how it could be anything malicious. This problem is getting really annoying lol. If none of you know how to fix it could you at least direct me to a forum with people who might know how to help me?Why can't I stay connected to my Verizon WIFI?
How come your using Wifi Have you tried to directly plug your computer into the Verizon Router? See if your connection works this way. There probably is something on your computer thats unchecked thats used to store the wifi Password I've seen it before. Here is what i would do. I would Remove the WIFI adapter Uninstall the software used for said adapter.
Restart computer
reinstall wifi Adapter.
Resetup connection.
